THE INSTITUTE FOR LITURGY AND SPIRITUALITY is sponsored by the Catholic Diocese of Memphis in Tennessee through the Department of Worship and Spiritual Life.
 

• The Institute for Liturgy and Spirituality is a concrete implementation of the first goal of the Diocesan Strategic Plan, "To nourish spiritual and liturgical life."
• The Institute consists of over 100 courses.  Several courses essential to basic liturgical ministry are taught at least 6 times annually.
• The Institute for Liturgy and Spirituality is directed by Mr. Michael Ziegler.  Mr. Ziegler has a Master's Degree from Saint Meinrad School of Theology, has worked for the Department of Worship and Spiritual Life since September 2003 as a pastoral musician, and has taught several courses in the Institute.  In addition to directing the ILS, Mr. Ziegler is a co-director of the diocesan Christian Initiation Team (RCIA), and continues to serve the Cathedral parish and the diocese as a pastoral musician.
• Over 3,000 course registrations have been processed since the Institute began in June 2000.
